Here is the gallery of the photos I took last Sunday at the GK Harvest Mock event at St Monica's in Parramatta of the GKOM crew.

After shooting a self portrait of myself in a business suit, I decided to do a mock up of the whole Superman thing since people think I have some resemblance to Dean Cain who starred as Superman in "Lois & Clark" back in the 1990's. The photo was taken using my Nikon D200 with the on-camera speedlight acting as the flash commander for two remotely triggered Nikon SB-800 speedlights (utilising the Nikon CLS system). Uploading the digital photos onto Adobe Photoshop, I made two layers, one colour and grayscale for the layer on top. I used the eraser function to erase the black and white "S" to reveal the blue and red colours.

I spent an afternoon practising with my equipment, trying to figure out the best configurations of the lighting. This self-portrait of the photographer (Me!) was taken with a Nikon D200 with the on-camera speedlight acting as the flash commander for two remotely triggered Nikon SB-800 speedlights (utilising the Nikon CLS system). So in combination with the two speedlights acting Strobist style I had a gold reflector acting as fill-in light for the shadows.

I was at the Vanguard in Newtown last Tuesday checking out Van Sereno's second CD release Persistence. There was a good turnout and the music was great. Check out Van's MySpace. Gung Hei Fat Choy! I know Chinese New Year was celebrated last week... better late than never? The photo was taken late last year at a local temple opening for Chin Lien Association in Canley Vale, a suburb in South Western Sydney. This photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera with a Nikkor 18-70mm zoom lens.

Sunset photography is all about being at the right place at the right time. Fortunately, my bedroom window is perfectly positioned to view fantastic Summer sunsets. This photo was taken last Thursday afternoon at exactly 19:37, with a Nikon D200 using the D70 kit lens (Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G) at 24mm Programme mode 1/160 sec f/6.3 ISO100.

My Philippine holiday was winding down and was running out of things to do so I decided to try and find someone to shoot with to practise some portrait/fashion photography. I found Maia and here are a few of her photos. This black and white photo was taken with my Nikon D70 with the Nikkor f1.4 50mm normal lens in combination with an off camera Nikon SB-800 speedlight.

Presenting the photos of the Australian GKYGAT. The Australian GKYGAT had 77 participants with the program running from January 21st to the 6th February 2007. GKYGAT is an abbreviation of Gawad Kalinga Youth Great Adventure Tour, Gawad Kalinga is a Filipino phrase for "To Give Care". Photos were taken with a Nikon D70 camera with a set of two lenses: a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens, which contributed many of the portraiture photography as well as the 'natural light' photos and the night photography; the second lens was a Tamron 28-300mm f3.5-6.3 zoom lens.
