Gawad Kalinga (GK) is a charity program that provides a community-focused solution to the problem of poverty. Translated in English, it means to "to give care" and incorporates the simple strategy of providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless, food for the hungry and dignity and peace to those who give and receive aid.

Rock4GK is an annual event that was established to raise funds to support the work of Gawad Kalinga. In 2008 Rock4GK returns for it's third year with a bigger and better repertoire, featuring a host of Sydney's talents. They'll be rocking to the theme 'Contemporary Multiculturalism', with representatives from local ethnic groups giving us a distinct perspective of the youth experience of culture in the 21st century.
